Most jars seal air in along with what you are storing. This one takes the air out. Press the logo on the lid to pump, press the orange button to release, and the lid pulls down and holds under vacuum. Three sizes, 400ml to 1200ml.
PRESS TO PUMP, PRESS TO RELEASE
The pump is built into the lid. Press the raised logo a few times to draw air out and the lid pulls itself down. Press the orange button to break the seal when you want it open. Nothing separate to lose and nothing to attach.
WHY REMOVING AIR MATTERS
A gasket stops new air getting in. It does nothing about the air already in the jar, which is the air actually touching what you are storing. Drawing that out is a different job from sealing, which is why a vacuum seal jar is the one to reach for when something is going to sit rather than be opened daily.
THREE SIZES, 30 TO 95 GRAMS
400ml at $29.99, 800ml at $34.99, 1200ml at $39.99, holding roughly 30 to 95 grams depending on size. Pick the one you will fill, since less headroom means less air to draw out.
NON-SLIP SILICONE BASES, COLOR CODED
Three color-coded silicone bases come with it. They fit snug on the bottom, add grip so the jar does not walk across a counter, and cushion the glass. Chalkboard stickers and a white marker come in the box for labeling.
FROSTED UV-RESISTANT BOROSILICATE
Same glass as the rest of the range. Drawing the air out and then leaving the jar in daylight would undo half the point.
IT IS GENUINELY GOOD IN A KITCHEN
Coffee, tea, spices and anything that goes stale rather than off. The vacuum does the same job on ground coffee that it does on anything else, and the silicone base means it lives on a counter without marking it.
