Three Ways to Seal a Container

This is the part that decides which one you want, and almost nobody explains it.

O-ring and screw cap

A rubber or silicone gasket compresses when you twist the lid shut. Simple, nothing to break, and it is what turns an ordinary tin into a smell proof container. The aluminum jars, tubes, pucks and pocket case all use it.

Vacuum pump

You pump the air out after sealing. That slows oxidation as well as containing odour, which matters if something sits for weeks rather than days.

Child-resistant lid

A smell proof container needs a rubber or silicone O-ring that squashes against the rim when you close it, or a vacuum seal that removes the air entirely. Everything in this collection uses one or the other, which is the difference between an odor proof container and a tin that merely looks sealed.

Honestly, no consumer container is certified against a trained detection dog, and anyone claiming otherwise is overselling. What a good airtight seal does is contain everyday odour so a jar in a bag or a drawer does not fill the room. That is the realistic standard, and it is the one ONGROK builds to.
